Nested beautifully on the edge of the Corpus Christi Bay, Downtown is the spot for great food, views, and nightlife. Enjoy Live music, bars, Hooks Baseball (AA Astros), the Aquarium, sailboat races, the several museums and historical landmarks in the area, and more!
What To Expect
Stay busy, no matter what your speed is. There's plenty to see and do.
In true coastal-town fashion, there are so many lesser-known nautical sights to see.
Shopping and Food
Eat great seafood, and then walk it off as you peruse through the streets.
You'll Fall In Love With
Warm summer nights, with the sea breeze blowing from the bay = mood.
Visit one of the museums, the Aquarium, Lexington Battleship, or walk the seawall. Catch a Hooks minor league baseball game, or walk the water garden. Oh, and make sure you don't miss the Selena statue on People's and Ocean Dr.
Then start the evening with wonderful seafood and sushi. Cap the evening with one of the unique and eclectic bars or music venues.
Across from the historic "What-A-Burger By The Bay," which is itself a gem, is the Art Center of Corpus Christi. Peruse through local art - some nautical, some.... naut.
Also, held at the Art Center is the Downtown Farmer's Market. Pick-up fresh produce and hand-made goods and knick-knacks every Wednesday from 5pm - 8pm.
Every week, catch Yacht Racing at the "Wednesday Night Regatta." Onlookers gather at the Lawrence Street T-head to enjoy the commencement of the race, amidst the warm sunset colors oertaking the blue of the Bay.
There's great food to be eaten, and great fun to be had. Don't miss the Downtown Art Walk, every First Friday of the month at Artesian Park. Tons of arts + crafts vendors and food trucks. Experience the local creative community and everything they have to share.
Condo communities scatter the downtown area, with many of them featuring great views of the Bay. Each of them walking distance from the food and fun of Downtown Corpus.
